Job Description


  • Retail, preferably Wal-Marts, projects - ground-ups & remodels

  • Car Dealerships

To determine key elements of projects that will provide competitive edge and successfully win competitive bids.  To manage and oversee the planning, organization, development and implementation of all design and construction of major client relationship projects towards delivering successful projects on time, within established budget and quality levels.

Reports to: Managing Director of Construction


  • Motivate personnel toward the attainment of company goals.
  • Ensure timely completion of all assigned projects within approved budget guidelines

  • Review and prepare budgets and schedules.

  • Monitor budget compliance and budget deviation as well as schedule adherence.

  • Review Plans from preliminary stage through final construction drawing phase.

  • Assist in the negotiation and writing of construction contracts with subcontractors and vendors as appropriate.

  • Contribute cost and technical data to design consultants.

  • Clear all regulatory “red tape” with all federal, state and local authorities involved in respective projects.

  • Provide technical support for on-site problem solving or necessary design changes.

  • Provide accurate accounting of construction expenses and projected profit/loss experience through job costing reports.

  • Develop, implement and monitor Tri-C’s safety program. 

  • Construction contracts with subcontractors and vendors as appropriate.

Educational/Experience Requirements

Have a proven track record of establishing and maintaining key client relationships.

Strong working knowledge of all construction disciplines

Ability and history of conceptual design/build estimating for:

o    Retail, preferably Wal-Marts, projects - ground-ups & remodels

Have a strong financial understanding of cost projections – both long & short term.

Communication skills to develop “team atmosphere” and cooperative attitude (both on job site and in office) and to assure a proper understanding of goals and implementation.

Negotiating skills to secure desired contracts.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of direct construction management experience with Wal-Mart (both At Risk and Agent).
